These were updates posted in December of 2008.  Mary Louise continues to improve!  Please check her updates at the MLP Foundation Page.

MaryLouise went in for a check up after Christmas and was immediately admitted to the hospital.  I will keep this site/page updated as we receive information.  Please keep her in your prayers!

Monday December 29
MaryLouise has been admitted to the hospital and is in ICU with very low blood pressure and very high temperature.  The diagnosis is septic shock.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Tuesday December 30
MaryLouise's blood pressure regulated and her temperature dropped significantly from 106.  But while attempting to move her she stopped breathing and CPR was administered.  She is now back on a ventilator.  Please pray for her and the Family and caregivers.

Wednesday December 31
MaryLouise stabilized and had a good night.  She is undergoing dialysis today.  We'll keep you posted.

Late update:  She went in for kidney dialysis around 5.  John called it a "peaceful day".  Said the infection that ran through her body was a form of e.coli.  Seems to be stable at this point.

Thursday January 1
Dialysis seems to be working.  MaryLouise's fever is a little low but manageable.  She can't move, or even blink but John says he knows she can hear them.  The Family sends their best wishes for a Happy New Year and a big thank you for all the prayers.  They updated the mlpfoundation.org website yestrerday if you want to get more details.

Friday January 2
Updated from John at 10:15 last night:  MaryLouise had a good day.  The latest doctor's report is that they are encouraged by her improvements and that she is staying the course.

Saturday January 3
MaryLouise continues to show progress.  She's still fighting the e.coli infection and getting through other issues.  The Family has been overwhelmed by prayers and support and offers to help out.  John said ML is going through a ton of blood so his suggestion for those that want to help is to go to your local blood bank and give blood in her honor.

Sunday January 4
The doctors say MaryLouise still has a long road ahead of her but she's made great strides towards her recovery.  Please keep all of them in your prayers and I will update this site with any reports we receive.

Update from JP at noon:  "Doctors are a little more encouraged.  It's a phyiscal and emotional rollercoaster.  Every day is a blessing and we thank everyone for their prayers and support being sent our way."

Monday January 5
MaryLouise is somewhat stable today but her liver is failing and other organs are at risk as well.
There is a detailed update from Sarah at
www.MLPFoundation.org.

Wednesday January 7
Doctors have been trying to wake up MaryLouise for 3 days and she finally responded this morning.  She squeezed her hand, wiggled her toes and cried.  This is a big step as she's been sedated for a while.

Friday January 9
Doctors are encouraged by MaryLouise and her progress.  She is a little more responsive and the infection is now under control.  She is getting better, thank you God.  Please continue to pray for her and for the Pawlowski Family.

Saturday January 10
The news continues to be very positive for MaryLouise.  Sarah posted a great update yesterday afternoon at
www.MLPFoundation.org.

Tuesday January 13
MLP is doing well.  She has a slight fever and they are trying to find the cause.  CT scans look good.  They want to pull the breathing tube, that would be a huge positive step.  (Update: she is now off breathing tube)

Sunday January 18
MaryLouise was scheduled for a few surgeries this weekend to attempt to remove an infection.  She continues to fight through the hurdles but is by no means out of the woods.  Please keep them in your prayers!

February
MaryLouise was transferred out of ICU earlier this month.  She has been able to sit up in the bed by herself and continues to improve.  God is good.  Please continue to pray for her recovery.

February 17
MLP typed a response on her Carepage for the first time yesterday.  She thanked everyone for their prayers and said she hoped to get out of the hospital soon.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO CHECK WWW.MLPFOUNDATION.ORG FOR UPDATES FROM THE FAMILY.
